What buyers actually call these products
The category goes by several names, and it helps to know them all when you search:
- Jibbitz — the trademarked name Crocs uses for its official charms. Most factories (including us) avoid using this trademark in listings, which is why you see “croc charms” or “shoe charms” instead.
- Croc charms / shoe charms — the generic terms.
- Charms for Crocs / Jibbitz-style charms — commonly used by resellers.
- Clog charms — used for the wider category, since charms also fit non-Crocs clogs and sandals with ventilation holes.
When you search for a manufacturer, use the generic terms. A factory that openly advertises “custom Jibbitz” in product titles is usually the type that also ignores trademark rules elsewhere.
What are croc charms made of?
This is the first question to settle, because the material decides price, durability, and how your logo looks.
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) — the standard choice. Most charms on the market, including a large share of what you see on Etsy and at trade shows, are PVC. It is soft, flexible, affordable, and takes bright colors well. A typical wholesale price range is roughly US$0.04–0.30 per piece, depending on size, detail, and quantity.
Epoxy resin — used for “bubbled” or dome-style charms, where a printed image sits under a clear resin dome. These look sharper for photo-style logos but cost more and are slightly heavier. Expect to pay more per piece and to order in larger minimums.
Hard plastic / ABS — less common, mostly for clip-style accessories rather than the classic pin-back charm.
A few material details worth knowing before you compare quotes:
- PVC charms are made from food-grade or non-toxic PVC pellets in most reputable factories. Ask for REACH and RoHS compliance documentation if you sell into the EU or North America. We supply both.
- Colors are mixed from masterbatch pellets, so there is no extra cost for custom colors — only for complex multi-color molding or painting.
- A 2D flat design is cheapest. 3D or sculpted charms need a more complex mold and cost more per unit.
MOQ: what the real minimums look like
MOQ (minimum order quantity) is usually the first filter buyers apply, and it is also where most confusion happens.
Across Chinese suppliers you will see MOQs from 1 piece (on Alibaba marketplace listings) to 5,000+ pieces (for factory-direct custom molding). The low numbers are almost always for stock designs — existing molds the factory already owns. The moment you ask for a custom design with your own logo, the MOQ jumps, because the factory has to invest in a new mold.

One thing we tell every buyer: a lower MOQ with a higher per-unit price is often smarter than a huge MOQ with a tiny unit price — especially for a first order. You learn what sells before you commit capital to 20,000 pieces of a design nobody has tested. We split first orders when the design allows it.
Pricing: what the numbers actually mean
Prices on Alibaba or Made-in-China listings look attractively low. The real cost is rarely the unit price alone. When you compare quotes, add these up:
- Mold / tooling cost — a one-time charge, typically US$80–500 per design depending on complexity. Some factories “waive” it but fold it into the unit price; ask which way they work.
- Unit price — US$0.04–0.30 per piece for PVC, as above.
- Printing — for photo-style or multi-color prints, a small per-piece add-on.
- Packaging — poly bag, header card, or custom box. Custom packaging raises per-unit cost by cents but often pays for itself at retail.
- Shipping — sea freight is dramatically cheaper than air for charms because they are small and light; a 50,000-piece order is easy to ship by sea.
A rough example for a custom 2D logo charm in PVC: at 1,000 pieces you might see US$0.12–0.18/unit plus a US$150–300 mold fee. At 10,000 pieces the unit price often drops to US$0.08–0.12. These are ballpark figures from our current price list — treat anything outside that range as a reason to ask questions, not a reason to celebrate.
Lead times: from design to doorstep
Here is the timeline we work to, which is fairly typical for the industry:
- Design confirmation + mold making: 5–7 days
- Sample production: 5–7 days (we always produce a sample before bulk; a photo of a sample is not a sample)
- Bulk production: 10–15 days after sample approval
- Sea freight to the US or EU: 25–40 days; air freight: 5–10 days
Plan backward from your event or sale date. The most common scheduling mistake we see is buyers contacting factories expecting production in a week. Samples alone take longer than that.
What to ask a factory before you order
Copy these into your first inquiry email — they separate real manufacturers from trading companies:
- “Do you have a factory we can visit (or video call inside)?” — real factories say yes. Trading companies stall.
- “Can you produce a sample before bulk, and how long?” — sample-first is the industry standard.
- “What are your REACH/RoHS certifications?” — non-negotiable for EU/US sales.
- “What is the mold cost, and do I own the mold?” — you should own the mold or at least have the right to use it with other suppliers.
- “What is your defect rate and replacement policy?” — a clear answer (we quote <1% and replace defective pieces in the next shipment) beats a vague “no problem”.
- “Do you do custom packaging and drop shipping?” — relevant if you resell online.
FAQ
Do charms fit all Crocs models?
Charms fit any shoe with the classic ventilation holes — Crocs clogs, slides, and many knockoff clogs with the same hole pattern. They also fit some sandals and clogs from other brands. Our charm pin-back is the standard size used across the industry.
Can I use the word “Jibbitz” in my product listings?
Jibbitz is a registered trademark of Crocs. Resellers routinely use it in product titles, but if you are building a brand you want to keep, use “croc charms” or “shoe charms” instead and avoid trademark risk.
What is the cheapest way to test a charm design?
Order stock designs first to test your market, then move to a custom mold once you know what sells. Stock designs require no mold fee and a much lower MOQ.
Do you ship samples internationally?
Yes. We ship samples by express courier (DHL/FedEx) in 5–10 days worldwide. Sample cost is usually charged and credited back on bulk orders — ask your supplier if they do this.
How long does custom packaging take?
Custom poly bags and header cards add about 5–7 days to the timeline. Printed boxes add more. Factor it in if your retail presentation depends on it.
